Hanoi
Uncle Ho's Mausoleum (to people that don't know who Uncle Ho is - he was the greatest leader of Vietnam): it's a decent place but really beautiful The mausoleum is surrounded by many trees, grass cover,... After visit the Mausoleum, you should visit the Ho Chi Minh Museum - which is close to the Mausoleum - there are things that are related to Ho Chi Minh, many kinds of trees around the country, a lake with gold fish,...
- Sword Lake (or "The lake of the restored sword"): the name of the lake is based on a famous legend: This lake is in the center of Hanoi - I suggest you should go to the 5th Floor of the building near the lake - where you will have a great view of the lake.
- The one pillar pagoda: very close to the temple and it's a special pagoda - with only one pillar - it was also built during Ly Thai To's time.
- The old quarter of Hanoi: with 36 ancient streets - they're near the sword lake. It's just wonderful wandering around these old and narrow streets - full of people in rush hours. And you can be very surprised seeing houses next to houses - it's just really strange seeing the combination of the old and the new but it's also very beautiful. There are many things that you can buy here: from handicrafts, silk, to clothes, food, ... everything!
Hoi An (more of a coastal town rather than a city),
So we are gonna take the train down to Danang and from there board a bus to get to Hoi An. Why im choosing Hoi An over Danang is that it’s a highly recommended place to go rather than Danang. Supposedly it’s a lot more beautiful than Danang. The beach looks awesome. Also we could take a half-day trip to the nearby village of My Son and the fantastic ruins of the sacred Cham city of Amaravati in the shadow of Cat's Tooth Mountain. Nestled in a lush green valley, this fourth century city is like a miniature Angkor Wat. The trip takes the better part of a day and can be arranged through any hotel.
Traffic here is minimal so we are going to rent a bike to ride around and explore the place. For those who ever wanted to try a bike this is the time. There are several tourist spots such as the mountains and some villages just outside of Hoi An if we want to explore out on our own.
Saigon
Most of the major tourist venues are located in District 1.
Ben Thanh Market similar to Chatuchak.
Just outside of Saigon, the Cu Chi Tunnels are part of an extensive network of underground passages which extend as far as Cambodia. Built by the Viet Kong, the tunnels played a strategic role in the Communists’ victory. Travel agencies around town offer a somewhat-hurried combination Cu Chi and Cao Dai Temple tour for about ten dollars. We can shoot some weapons here as well.
Halong Bay
Sam/Nazir just get a gauge on the tour prices for this place. Including the transport from Hanoi to the Halong Bay. Nazir I already settled the traveling within the cities in Vietnam. We are just taking sleeper trains which are a lot easier.
Phom Penh
The Killing Fields of Choeung Ek is situated 15klm from central Phnom Penh. Here is the devastating reminder of the torturous and barbaric reign of the Khmer Rouge.
Go-Karts
The Kambol F1 Go-Kart club is located on Route 4 about 8 km south of the Airport. They have Honda GX 200cc go-kart's and you can race them on a 950m track. So if you feel the need for speed head on down for a fun time.
Bowling
There are 2 bowling alleys in Phnom Penh. Superbowl is located at #113 Moa Tse ToungBoulevard (Parkway Square) and Phnom Penh Bowling Club is located at #34-38, Street 294. Both places will ensure you have a fun time.
Shooting Range
This is located on the road out past the Airport and the place gets quite a few visitors wanting to test out such weapons as AK-47's M-60 mounted machine gus and even the good old B-40 rocket propelled grenade launcher. If you are into this type of thing your sure to have an exciting time.
Siem Reap
Angkor Wat.
So that kinda wraps up what we will try to be doing in the 2 week trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. Whoever is suppose to do the travelling within the country,(i think nazir), pls get more info on getting from Saigon to Phomn Penh. Thank you and come again. And amacam 2 posts in a row.
