Sneijder makes it look too easy
I am very sure that after last night's performance, I am not the only one running out of superlatives to describe Holland. Taking into account that France is definitely no pushover with the genuine class of players they have such as Ribery, Henry, Anelka, Benzema and the list goes on and on, yesterday's match between Holland and France has to be one of the best international matches I've ever watched. And I was lucky enough to witness it in a passionate albeit McDonald's atmosphere.
Holland didn't just won France. They decimated their opponents, manhandled them and simply tore the team apart. The manner in which they won the game left all of us in awe.I honestly had goosebumps after the match. And then there's that sublime van Nistelrooy 360 spin cum pass which swept everybody off their feet and in a single moment invigorated my passion for soccer. It was that inspiring.
Come Telok Belangah this Sunday, we will all be our own versions of Sneijder, Van der Vaart, Henry and Ribery. And although we will all consperm fall flat in our attempts to mimick them, who cares. This is football and this is the way we like it.
