Presenting to you LIVERPOOL FC No.7 - ROBBIE KEANE

Pardon my excitement guys. Too much hype had been going on about Ronaldo's future at Man U, and Berbatov going to Man U all, I think it's time to hear bout Liverpool. Finally Liverpool have signed a big star, ROBBIE KEANE, YEAH!! After all those young unknowns that Benitez-wanna-step-Wenger bought, finally a new number 7 is unveiled, a Liverpool fan since 9. It's gonna be a mouth-watering partnership between Torres and Keane, I hope. Maybe this year, like last year and the year before, it's Liverpool's year again. Haha.

blisters and red nose

Since everybody has pretty much been missing me, here’s an update on what I’ve been up to lately.

Firstly, I am proud to say I’ve been selected to be in the school tennis team. And this time, it’s not a case of me being the best. It’s far from that. There is genuine quality in the squad but the only problem is that other Unis can also boast the same. Their level of play is so high I’m just so honored to be training with these people. Sometimes, the winners they make are downright ridiculous and it is safe to say that I’ve been humbly put in my place. So much for “Nak lawan kapaaa”. However, there is a decent chance I’ll be starting doubles in the upcoming Uni games. It’s a double-edged sword la. On one hand, there’s a great deal of pride in being selected. On the other, I will be facing NO pressure at all ah. Kesian pedang.

Secondly, I took my Happening Level up one notch by clocking my second clubbing experience. This time it happened at Butter Factory together with my council friends. As usual, the mood only kicked in at the dance floor and I managed to joget zapin on the stage for most of the time. It was fun being up there because you can pretty much oversee the room and more importantly, you can step you are the life of the party. Music was good and I could hear Nas whispering “Hello”s in my head all the way from Choa Chu Kang. Seriously, SIM chicks baik. Better than NUS Computing I know. Clubbing kapaa guys?

And lastly, Brazilians are coming to town and I seriously want to watch them. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I want to watch Anderson and co. play live. I know the price of the ticket is quite steep but these opportunities only come once and we should catch it. It’ll be a very surreal experience and surely one to remember. The match is next Monday. Whoever planning to go can count me in. I don’t want to watch alone. Oh but Aizat can ask girls out what. Hisap la 17 Convention.

From And To Dumb Dumber

Mus turns 22 on the 22nd!
Which is today.

I wish my dear friend all the best in his life. His aspirations are many and some die out after awhile, but I hope that the important, life-affirming ones stay and guide him in all that he does.

Other than that, hisap bodoh.

Vote

I was watching MTV this morning when I had nothing to do at home after my morning run, then I saw this MTV Asia Awards 2008 Nominees for Most Popular Artist in Singapore. SHOCKINGLY, there're only 4 nominees for that, coz Singapore's music industry is as huge as the country on the globe. The first nominee is Electrico. I thought, "wah not bad ah". BUT THEN, BUT THEN, came the other 3. JJ Lin, Stefanie Sun and Tanya Chua. Wooohoo!! I was even more excited. Obviously Electrico shouldn't win la. I mean, out of the 4, it's the only one having songs in some foreign alien language, unlike the other 3. Electrico should know that we Singaporeans don't understand the language of their songs. So guys, I'm rooting for JJ Lin!

I can't breathe

How do you tell the truth
When you have lied so much
How do you laugh
When you have cried so hard

Nothing seems real
Or so it seems
Engulfing
Smothering
I can’t breathe

Friends all around
Avenues to turn
But if this carries on
Bridges might burn

How do I lie awake
When all I want is sleep
How do I tell
When all I want is silence

Nothing seems real
Or so it seems
Overflowing
Overwhelming
I can’t breathe

Its about time I wrote something on this blog. Actually I had something saved on draft but some idiot deleted it ah. If I find out who that person is, just watch out ah.

Anyways, this is part 1 of many entries I am gonna write about. I wrote the piece, which you are gonna read (I hope) a very long time ago but I never published it. It might sound merepek and kental because I decided not to edit it. Just a J1 kid trying to express himself. I present (drum rolls please)

Aizat

Zat- I said it once and i shall say it again. The biggest mistake i made in my life is saying 'hi' back to this 1.58m shorty. I should have just walked away or just smile at him but no, i had to reciprocate and say 'hi' back. Taik. And so it started my 4 years of being this idiots classmate. Sedih seh. We all know about the 'name incident'. The incident where the teacher (according to Zat said "Mohd Aizat") and me responding by going to the teacher's desk. That was humiliating so i had to make it up to him. First impression is so important and i did not want to be stood up by this guy ah. I gotta to say Zat impressed me at first ah, emphasis on the word at first. He looked intelluctual (how wrong i was) and spewed out words like "Emjoy". I thought 'Oh man, this guy is damn smart ah. I've never ehard of the word emjoy ah." And then, and then it was the day which i will never forger. 2-5 weeks into our friendship (i'm not sure on the date, aper Nazir tak tau date. MATI!! so sue me) i was in Bangkit MacDonalds with Zat ah. Bloody hawker centre replaced it now. Babi sial. Ok, back to me reminscing about my friendship with Zat. Zat always goes to McDonalds ah, that or KOPITIAM at BP. Anyways, he was eating ah and i wasn't. So since i was free he asked me to go and get the serviette. Yes, SERVIETTE. Alah Mat ni action konon. Tak boleh kater, "Nazir could you help me get some tissue from the counter' or "Nazir help me get something to wipe my face with" but nak use serviette. And me ebing the ignoramus i am and not the bodoh sombong guy, melayu peribahasa sial, asked him innocently in the hope of warranting a non-hostile response asked him for the meaning of serviette ah. And you all know what he said but for the sake of those who don't know he said this and i remember it word for word. "What, you don't know the meaning of serviette? How did you come to SJI sial?" Okayla, he didn't use the word sial but still you get the gist. Mak i, kawan macam ni seh. Insulted me all you know. But what to do. And obviously later i found out that emjoy was the word of his own creation, his stupidity. Four years traversing through life in SJI with him. Although i may call him stupid, idiotic and alot more of things which need no mention, i still treasure his friendship in SJI. ALl the times we played street soccer. All his jokes he made in class. ACE camp where we couldn't light up a whole box of stupid matches. Him introducing me to burger Ramly. Him bearing with me in history class and paying 15 bucks for being last in the histpry pair thingie cos i didn't do my work. Passing me his book so i could copy his work, from english to malay and obviously maths, haha. And most importantly, the one who took bus with me home, listening to all my nonsense, helping me stalk some certain girl and even willing to wake up at 6.15(yes Zat can wake up early) so that we can take bus from CCK and not be late for school. Zat has been a good friend, even now although he has the bad habit of taking things like maybe a calculator and returning it after 17 months. MENGIRA MENGIRA. Diam.BUt he still merit some good points like lending me econs notes and joining the CLUB with me. Haha. So thats Aizat, my 421 mate. Life has certainly been enjoyable with him around. Thanks.

Sorry for the lack of paragraphs. Like i said, no edits. Ya. As for the rest, wait for your turn ya. Sometime around next year or what.

Dear Mr Ronaldo

Is he staying? Is he going?

Frankly, this incessant question is starting to get on my nerves. This never ending saga has been hogging the headlines since God knows when and I think everybody wants this to end asap. Almost all of the important head honchos in the footballing world have given their 2 cents worth and before you know it, Oprah will step in and have him on the show.

Seriously, how hard is it for you to come to a decision? How difficult is it to say a YES or a NO? Stop beating around the bush and start beating your own bush la. Even the SJIM is more decisive than you (Ok I take that back).

Don’t think we don’t know what you’re trying to do. You’re trying to play the good guy in this game. Play it cool. Play it diplomatic. More often than not, your responses have been vague and it has been intended that way for us to read in between the lines. What do you think we are some kind of football noobs?! It is so obvious now that you are masterminding your own plot out of Old Trafford. You are just not brave enough to say it because you are still afraid to face the repercussions and the backlash that comes along with it. Regardless of what happens, I don’t think you have scored any points with the Man U fans. You’ve not only disappointed them but infuriated them further with your antics. Ever heard of loyalty?

Will Man U miss you? Yes they will. You were only like the best player in EPL and the world last season. You only scored 42 goals and in Darren Fletcher, we have a player who can score 0.42 goals. So yes your presence will be missed. But no single player is bigger than the team and Man U has time and time again moved on after the departure of their superstars. I think it could be even a blessing in disguise for players waiting in your shadows. In fact, should this transfer happen, we can finally see a big big season from Wayne Rooney. It may even propel the team to greater heights. It is a team game after all.

So make your decision Mr Ronaldo and make it quick. Nothing’s going to be a surprise anymore.

Why I Play Pennis

(This squirrel is practising for the game of pennis)

(Even this nun wants to play pennis)

I think I may not have watched the BEST pennis match ever. It's a good thing I didn't, too, because I don't think I'd have enjoyed it much. Thing is, a lot of people play pennis and they don't win 6-3, 7-4, 9358593553.5258-538572835.24 but they win in their heart of hearts, without a doubt.

So if you have courage, two balls and a hard...heart, come play pennis at a community centre near you!

Just for the sake of an entry

I see this blog is gonna die anytime soon, so might as well I try to put in some stuff to make it a lil bit more interesting. Well, this thing is damn old already, but nvm, it's damn funny. I present to you Rowan Atkinson, live. He is damn bastard la.

If you wanna see Mr Bean, TOWNS will be proud to present you our very own. We all know la who he is. Hahaha.

Why I Play Tennis

A dejected Federer

King of Clay, now King of Grass

I think I may have just watched the BEST tennis match in a long time. I know it’s easy to let the post match adrenaline get the better of me but this time I am pretty sure yesterday’s final between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will go down in Wimbledon’s history as one of the all time greats if not the greatest. The score says it all, 6-4 6-4 6-7 6-7 9-7 to Nadal in a whopping 4h 48min albeit two rain delays. As a tennis fan, , I simply could not have asked for a better match. It was truly tennis at the highest quality.

Yesterday’s titanic clash left everyone on the edge of their seats and more often than not had my mouth gaping after their ridiculous, totally out-of-this-world shot-making abilities. It was in Nas’s words, an Orgasm of Various Proportions. The best shot of the day for me belonged to Federer. Facing a Championship point and NO pressure at all, he ripped this amazing down-the-line backhand passing shot to beat Nadal at the net. He eventually won the tie break and the 4th set. To put into perspective, it was equivalent to Gerrard scoring that crazy half-volley equaliser against West Ham in the FA Cup Final. It was magic in the darkest hour.

Seriously but cliché-ly speaking, there were no losers yesterday. Tennis was the ultimate winner. I think everyone would like to pick up a racket and play after witnessing yesterday’s epic battle. It was that kind of a game. So Jon if you’re reading this, bring on the 5 sets.
