M.A.K.A

I was in the gym just now with Nas and as usual the radio was playing in the background. Class 95 was on and the DJ caught our attention when she promised to list out the "Top 10 Signs that She's Just Not That Into You", after the next few songs. We eventually left but if we actually had stayed, this was what we would have heard.

$251 well spent

So Coldplay had their second concert here in Singapore yesterday night. Ya Coldplay, only my favourite band and we bought only the most expensive tickets so no biggie la eh.

We got there early and encountered our first upset of the day. Our seats were located damn far away from the stage la. Considering the price we paid, it really wasn't what we were expecting. And I was in fact hoping that they would remove the seats for a free standing area because I cannot emphasize this enough, you CANNOT sit in a Coldplay concert.

This was our view. Upset la got lots of matnung krempers in front of us

Second upset of the day was when Mercury Rev, some druggy band from impressyourfriendswithunknownbands.com, opened the concert. To be fair though, the music was good and the lead singer did some nice Suff impersonations. But they were too much in their own world playing their seemingly neverending songs and everybody in the stadium except themselves wanted them to stop. By then, the crowd was getting too restless.

When the lights were finally dimmed and the first familiar sounds of the band were heard, it sparked total chaos in the crowd. They opened with Life in Technicolor and it was the most surreal feeling having heard them on my earphones all these while. That moment right there was exactly what I've been waiting for.

From then on, it was one glorious song after another. From Violet Hill to Clocks to Yellow to In My Place to Fix You, the list is endless. And they had the nerve to play Viva la Vida and Lost! back-to-back. Omg everybody just lost it there, if they hadn't already. And just as you think they cannot get any better they upped their game at the very next song. There was barely a chance for the crowd to catch their breath. Together with all of the visual effects, lasers, bouncing balloons, confettis incorporated into their song, it was truly a beautiful spectacle.

Yellow
This was as close as we could get to them. They actually went into the crowd and played some mean acoustics. Brilliant showmanship
Lovers in Japan.
Notice Chris at the bottom left singing with an umbrella in hand. Kau class la Chris.

The crowd I must say was brilliant. When Chris & gang first left in what we thought was the end of the show, the whole stadium went Ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh ooooohhhhhhhhhh (Viva la Vida style). It was so loud that even if they hadn't planned on coming back to stage, they would after hearing that. Chris did eventually returned to thunderous applause and started his piano solo on The Scientist before being joined by the rest of the band. They then ended superbly with Life in Technicolor II. I was literally overwhelmed at this point. They could not have ended it any better.

Will Champion, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Chris Martin.
Thank you for the beautiful music.

Three very happy losers

For the record, Chris omg Chris Martin is the consummate musician cum showman. On top of the brilliiant (I've run out of adjectives) piano and guitar skills, he was spontaneous, charismatic, entertaining, endearing and engaging all at the same time. Definitely a crowd pleaser. And his voice omgggggggggg, just how I imagined it to be. It gives me the chills just thinking back on the whole experience

breathe breathe breathe

Ok i'm seething with rage as I'm writing this. You guys know right as much as I'm a hardcore Man U fan I always take their matches into perspective, regardless of the outcomes.

But what I just witnessed was pathetic. I swear Man U played the worst half they could ever play during their first half against Fulham. Sure they played with a man down, but the manner in which they played was abysmal. No heart, no spirit, no desire. They couldn't even string 3 passes together.

Second half they played much better but it was too late. And F the referee ok. Kau potek ke rabun ke buta. Bloody Pansil had his studs on Ronaldo so many times and you didnt show him a second yellow card. Rooney threw the ball back to get the match going and that warrants a yellow card?! Kau hisap bodoh you might as well quit referreeing and be a full time matnung kremper.

Seriously la upset seh. Nak makan pun tak ada appetite. Nak belajar lagi jangan harap. You better wake up Devils or kiss your title defence goodbye.

Lukis la, lukis

So this is the lukisan rasmi of the Champions League quarters and semis.

1) Liverpool vs Chelsea
2) Barcelona vs Bayern Munich

3) Manchester Utd vs Porto
4) Villarreal vs Arsenal

For the 3rd time in 5 years, Liverpool is meeting Chelsea in the knock-out stages of the Champions League. Standard ah ni. Like wtf man, almost every year, see Chelsea see Liverpool. Anyway, winner of tie 1 will meet winner of tie 2 in the semis. So ya, if Liverpool wins, then most likely meet Barca, which is kiii. Then Man U, typical boring draw, always getting the easier teams, bunch of magnum classics. Don't believe me, ask Michel.

March Mayhem.. Not

So as part of the March Bday Babies celebration, TOWNS decided to go to Fisherman Wharf for dinner. We decided to keep it a boys night out because.. we don’t really have a choice.

This year’s affair was a much muted one as compared to last year’s. Apa nak buat. Ekonomi merosot dok. Tapi yang penting intention is there and members semua datang. The food was more Hallelujah than expected but we all ordered fish so settle.

You would think that since we have a camera we would at least have some pics of the food but NOO. All we got was this. Stupid random pics which told no story at all.

Why so serious Nazir?

Hottie #1 : Lives at Yew Tee girlss

Hottie #2 : "I think you look the best among among your SJI friends"

Merepek face #1 : "yang lain semua muka merepek". That's me people.

And then standard la we were undecided on what to do next. So how do we come to decision? We don’t. Instead we gathered at a taxi stand. YOU’RE A TAXI STAND.

I like this pic somehow. Old school ah

Chop chilli chop pe?

The now disbanded 17 Convention

Since no one had any good ideas, we decided to play Left 4 Dead. The room was somehow open and dark with fog and lights coming from all direction. From time to time, random people were dancing to loud music. I don’t really get the new concept of the shop but we accepted that it was all part of the game.

Nas and Mus discussing their game plan

I spotted a guy wearing the same shirt as me

Since we also scored 4, might as well ah..

Hello all, it's been quite a while since I wrote an entry. I'm only writing this FOR ONE reason. Last night when I saw Lucas in the starting lineup, I was panicking ah. WTF, but no choice ah, coz Alonso's injured. Man U was attacking quite well, and with Tevez's through pass, Reina had to bring Park down when there was no immediate threat. So when Ronaldo scored the penalty, standard ah. After that Reina was shaky throughout, fumbling a few times, including one from Ronaldo's free kick. Riera was disappointing, I dunno why, kentalan habis. Lucas, as usual ah, as FAST as Dossena. I was thinking if Liverpool didn't score before half-time, thats it, gg liao. However, Vidic was punished FOR ONE mistake, leaving Torres with just Van der Sar to beat. Gerrard was then brought down by Evra in the penalty box. Guess what? Gerrard also can score penalty la! Later on, Vidic was shown the red card, for bringing Gerrard down when there was a goalscoring opportunity. If I were to praise Kuyt, FOR ONE thing, he was the one who flicked the ball to Gerrard. More importantly, u all remember Riise's scorcher? Ah, Aurelio didn't score like that. He just gave a classy free-kick ah. I thought what happened, rupa-rupanya goal. That's 3-1. Then when Dossena came in, I thought he will be a matnung kramper ah. But but, credit should be given to him for scoring a nice goal ah. That's 2 late goals in 2 consecutive games.
Suff's goal just now, was smth like that ah, lob over the keeper. Who made the damn nice pass to you ah Suff? Baik eh that guy.

Insua is back, and so is Kuyt. But MORE IMPORTANTLY, Ngog is world-class!

Sometimes I dunno why I bother watching the Liverpool game ah. Somehow I was awaken at 430am, dunno for what. And aku punya gatal, went to switch on the TV la, to check out the game. WTF! As I'm typing this, Ngog fucking scored!! Hahahahaha. I was about to talk about how merepek Ngog was, and that the not-able-to-score Kuyt is back. Well, Ngog really was merepek. He scored a lucky goal, he wasn't so much involved in the game before that. But what I really wanna say is that, Insua is back! He's probably the attacking-yet-stable option that Liverpool had been missing for the past few games. Ooooh, Ngog is reading this entry I think. He just made a nice fake, not that matnung kramper after all.

If Jon misses soccer because of rugby games or even softball matches, I'm ok with it. But guess what la? He spends his time doing other manly stuff
